General FAQs

  • Elf Studios and Talktopia Podcasts are open Monday to Friday, 10:30am to 7:30pm.

    However, if you have a special requirement to record or shoot on a weekend or outside our regular work hours, please give us a call and we will do our best to work with your needs.

    Elf Jampad is open on all 7 days of the week from 9am to 9pm.

    We have lots of free street parking in front of and near the studio so you won’t have any trouble finding parking space.

  • We have designed Elf Studios to be completely accessible by wheelchair.

    The Entry
    We have a slope up to the driveway. we then have a lift that can bring you down to Elf Studios, Talktopia Podcasts and Elf Jampad, which is situated in the basement.

    The Studio Spaces

    The entrance into Elf Studios, Elf Jampad and Talktopia Podcasts has a slope for wheelchairs and so does the entrance to the washroom.

    The Washroom

    The washroom itself has a handle next to the WC to assist in sitting down and getting up.

    If you feel there is anything else we can do to make our space more accessible, please let us know, and we will do our best to make it happen.

  • Yes, we have an air-conditioned reception where you can wait if the studio space you have booked is being prepared for you.

    After discussing all your requirements and setting the dates for the booking, you will need to make a 100% advance payment to book your hours at the studio.

  • You’re welcome to extend your booking/session in any of the studios, as long as the following slots in our workday are available and if it doesn’t go beyond our work hours.

    In case of an urgent project, we may make exceptions, but that will be at Elf Studio’s discretion.

    The charges will remain our standard rates.

  • We understand there can be situations where you might need to cancel or reschedule your booking. Here are our policies:

    We require 100% advance payment for all bookings.

    Cancellation or Reschedule Policy:

    • No refunds will be possible.

    • If you cancel or reschedule over 24 hours before the booking time → No refund. You can reschedule to another date and time within 7 days of the booking.

    • Cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours → No refund, no reschedule possible.

    We also offer a FREE BTS photo/video shoot with every session that you can use to promote your release.

    Bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis as soon as a 100% advance payment is cleared.

  • Yes, if you already have a stereo mix of your song with all the track-outs/stems, we can turn it into an immersive Dolby Atmos mix as well.

    Our rates are very reasonable: just ₹15,000 per song.

  • We recognise that it can be difficult to figure out the master files and their purposes.

    Master File Formats — What Each One Is For

    Note: ownership of the song follows whoever holds these masters, so be careful who you send them to.

    • Audio Release 1644 — 16-bit/44.1kHz uncompressed WAV. Use for physical CD master prints.

    • Video Sync 2448 — 24-bit/48 kHz uncompressed WAV. Send this to your video editor for music video sync.

    • Apple Lossless 2496 — 24-bit/96kHz full-resolution file. Upload to your distributor for streaming (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.). If your distributor can't handle this, use Video Sync 2448 instead.

    • Dolby Atmos ADMBWF — Spatial audio master. You will get this file if you have taken the Dolby Atmos mixing package. Upload alongside Apple Lossless 2496 for Atmos-enabled streaming. This file needs 10+ channel playback to be heard properly; most computers can't play it correctly. Free in-studio Atmos listening sessions available on request.

    • Acapella & IT (Instrumental Track) — Vocal and instrumental stems are separate. Instrumental works for karaoke/live use; send a cappella to a DJ/producer for official remixes.

    • Stem Masters (Track-outs) — Individual track stems. Keep these safe — they are used for future up-mixing, custom live setups, film/background scoring, etc.

    • MP3 — Listening only. Not for upload anywhere.

    Our 7.1.4 monitoring configuration is made up of:

  • Yes, of course! You’re welcome to bring your own engineer, instruments and/or session musicians.

    For your convenience, our engineer will be present to assist in any way possible since he knows the ins and outs of the studio best.

    Also, our studio is set up to work best with Ableton Live. Our support will be limited if you use other DAWs.

  • Water or coffee is allowed in the guest area of the control room. Water can also be provided in the live room.

    As for food, we have a pantry with seating where meals can be eaten. One can also eat in the reception area of our studio.

    If you need any help in ordering food, please let one of our staff know, and we will be happy to assist.

  • We have a PDP Concept Shell pack with Zildjian ZHT cymbals and a Tama drum throne.

  • This depends on the complexity of the project and the feedback we get while we are in the process of mixing and mastering.

    Of course, we will make it a priority to get your song ready and in your hands as quickly as possible.

  • With every track, we offer you two rounds of feedback and revisions. Beyond that, all changes will be chargeable. These charges will depend on the scale and complexity of the changes needed.

  • We currently don’t have any in-house producers, but we know several freelance producers that we can bring in for your project.

    Just let us know your requirements and we’ll take it from there.
